In brief
Alon Day (Hebrew: אלון דאי; born November 4, 1991) is an Israeli professional stock car racing driver, recognized as the first Israeli to compete in NASCAR-sanctioned events and a four-time champion of the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series.
Hailing from Ashdod, Israel, Day began his racing career in open-wheel series, including Formula Renault and Formula 3, before transitioning to stock cars in 2015 with the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series, where he quickly established himself as a dominant force. He secured his first championship in 2017, followed by titles in 2018, 2020, and 2022, amassing 24 wins and 34 podiums in 71 starts, making him the series' most successful driver to date.
Day grew up in Ashdod alongside three older brothers in a household influenced by both Jewish traditions and Western culture, including rock music from bands like Pearl Jam and Nirvana; he celebrated his bar mitzvah at age 13 in 2004, a rite that marked a significant family milestone.
Day's first hands-on racing experience began with go-karting at age 10, following introductory lessons received as a birthday gift from his parents. Three years later, for his bar mitzvah at age 13 in 2004, his father gifted him a personal go-kart costing approximately NIS 20,000, enabling early local competitions in Israel where he quickly showed promise by finishing second in his debut race.
