In brief
Devon Levi (born December 27, 2001) is a Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender currently playing for the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League (AHL) as a prospect for the Buffalo Sabres of the National Hockey League (NHL). Standing at 6 feet 0 inches (183 cm) and weighing 192 pounds (87 kg), Levi catches left-handed and is known for his strong collegiate performance and international success.
Levi was selected by the Florida Panthers in the seventh round, 212th overall, of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. His rights were traded to the Buffalo Sabres on July 24, 2021, along with a 2022 first-round draft pick, in exchange for forward Sam Reinhart. After a standout college career at Northeastern University, where he won the Mike Richter Award as the top NCAA Division I men's goaltender in both 2022 and 2023—becoming the first to achieve consecutive wins—Levi signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Sabres in March 2023 and re-signed on a two-year contract in July 2025. He made his NHL debut later that month and has since appeared in 39 games for the Sabres. During his time with the Huskies, he posted impressive statistics, including a.950 save percentage in the 2021-22 season, leading Hockey East.
Levi grew up in the Montreal suburb of Dollard-des-Ormeaux, where he was immersed in the local Jewish community and attended the Hebrew Foundation School. He later attended West Island College, where he graduated as valedictorian.
