In brief
Eddie Pola and George Wyle knew television and pop the way carpenters know wood. It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year was built for Andy Williams and then escaped the special into the culture.
Wyle also wrote the Gilligan’s Island theme; Pola had a long radio and TV career. One December song is enough to keep both names in the credits of American winter.
